In the war-affected Vanni region, there are many remote areas without suitable health care facilities. This means that often people would have to make long, convoluted journeys which were often difficult, expensive and time consuming to district hospitals. This was even more difficult for people with families and disabilities.

We therefore established the mobile health project early in 2015 purchasing a vehicle and modifying it as a medical mobile unit. We have so far supported numerous clinics in Vanni with follow up sessions, for the people living in remote areas. Furthermore, the ambulance has also been used to transport patients with disabilities from their homes to hospitals and back, helping them overcome numerous barriers. We are pleased that other local voluntary organisations have also requested the service of our ambulance in aid of their voluntary work.

Your kind donations would be used to maintain the vehicle and to pay for a driver. We appreciate any amount you can donate.
